Hunters hard work has earned him a spot on the University of North Carolina Pembroke Men's Track & Field team as a decathlete. Hunter will begin training for 10 different track and field events as a Brave this summer. During his years at Cedar Ridge, he has competed at the NCHSAA Regional meet in the 110m hurdles, pole vault, 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams. He has also qualified at conference in the 100 and 200 meter dash. In addition to running track, Hunter played soccer for 14 years and football for 3 years.
Hunter has excelled on the track and in the classroom. He is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. He will also be in the Maynor Honors College at UNCP where he plans to major in Computer Science.
In addition to playing sports, Hunter has been a member of the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Red Cross Club, Hype Pack, and Math Club during his years at Cedar Ridge.
Hunter is happy to be able to continue at the next level in a sport that he loves at a school that is a great fit for him. He has already met the Track & Field team at UNCP and felt right at home. Although he had several college offers for track and field all over the country, he's happy that he will be representing a university in his home state.
Hunter would like to thank his parents for their support and all of the coaches that have made this opportunity possible. He wouldn't be the athlete that he is without each of them.
