Kevin began playing football at the age of five and he immediately fell in love with the game. He went on to play 5 years for Pop Warner football for the Orange County Tarheels. Kevin maintained his momentum as he played for Gravelly Hill Middle School during his 7th & 8th grade years. When Kevin arrived at Cedar Ridge High School he started playing on the JV team as a wide receiver. Kevin aspired to play another position, so after consulting with his coach, he was able to play cornerback. Kevin would eventually go on to earn a starting spot on the varsity team during the 2015 season as a cornerback.
During his junior year, he became known for running back an 80 yard interception against Carrboro High School. He would then go on to rack up 4 more interceptions during the season and he eventually earned the 2016 Cedar Ridge High School Defensive Player Of The Year Award.
During the summer of 2017, Kevin attended multiple college football camps, including the Team USA regional football camp, where he competed with and against, some of the best athletes from North & South Carolina.
Unfortunately, Kevin’s senior season ended early, due to a labrum tear that he had continued playing with throughout the season. Unaware of the tear, Kevin continued to train before school, after school, at home, and on the weekends. Kevin will leave the Cedar Ridge High School football program with 76 career tackles, 9 career interceptions, 22 passes deflected, 376 career Kickoff Return yards, and 2 blocked field goals.
Kevin was an active member of the D.R.E.A.M. team here at Cedar Ridge in 2016, which allowed him to tutor and mentor younger kids at Grady A. Brown Elementary School. Kevin was also an active leader in the Fellowship Of Christian Athletes Club.
