HILLSBOROUGH, NC 25 JANUARY 2018- Mr. Danny Holloman will serve as the Interim Principal at Cedar Ridge High School through March 1, 2018. The current principal, Ms. Heather Blackmon, is away from the school to provide care for a family member. She will return to Cedar Ridge at the end of Mr. Holloman’s tenure at the school.
Mr. Holloman is the former Superintendent of Person County Schools, and he has formerly served as a high school principal in Franklin County (NC) where he was the district Principal of the Year. “Having a seasoned, respected principal to step-in and help lead a high school is what we were looking for,” said Dr. Todd Wirt, Superintendent of Orange County Schools. “The fact that Mr. Holloman has been a superintendent as well is a valuable asset that should assure students and staff about his proven leadership,” added Superintendent Wirt.
In addition to being a school leader, Mr. Holloman has served as the Section Chief of the Human Resources Management division of the North Carolina Department of Instruction. While in that role, he advised districts all throughout North Carolina on various human resources issues. Before beginning his career, Mr. Holloman earned his Bachelor of of Science in Middle Grades Education from Barton College, and he earned his Master of School Administration from East Carolina University.
