A message from Superintendent Dr. Todd Wirt
Summer break is officially over, and beginning tomorrow all of our students will be in session for the 2018-19 school year. A new school year brings many new things- classes, teachers, friends, and positive memories to last a lifetime. We could not be more excited to have our traditional calendar students begin school on Monday. Our staff has spent the summer preparing for 2018-2019 to be our best school year yet in Orange County.
There are many upgrades to safety and security that we have implemented at our school buildings. Some of them you will notice, and some of them you will not notice. But, what we will all notice is there is more activity around town. We ask that you keep in mind that there will be increased traffic on our roadways and students waiting at their bus stops on Monday morning, and in doing so travel with caution and patience.
There is nothing more important to me than the safety of our students as we transport them to and from school and care for them during the day in our facilities. We are pleased with the progress we made over the summer in our efforts to further secure our school buildings. We will be even more pleased to open the school year safely and positively. On behalf of all of the Orange County Schools staff, I wish you a wonderful school year.
