Welcome to C.W. Stanford !
On behalf of the faculty and staff I would like to welcome you and your family to C.W. Stanford. Our school is one of the oldest in Orange County and is rich in tradition and history. We are academically driven but understand the importance of extra-curricular activities to shape a well rounded student. Our sports programs help students learn the fundamentals of the sport, sportsmanship, how to work as a team and have a good time. We also have groups that meet to learn more about science, robotics, rocketry, and environmental issues.
One of our focuses for this school year is STEM education. Activities and lessons are being offered that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. These are the jobs of the future and we want our students prepared. Our teachers want their students to succeed. Academic standards are high so that the students will be prepared when entering high school. Academic rigor is enhanced through the use of the 1:1 laptop initiative. Teachers are continually adapting lessons to fit the need of the student and be a support to them.
Welcome to the C.W. Stanford Community of parents, grandparents, guardians, students, teachers, administrators and staff. We will all work together to meet the needs of our students.
Anne Purcell, Principal
C.W. Stanford Middle School will work as a collaborative community to promote academic growth through challenging and engaging instruction so that all students become and remain successful, productive citizens in a global society.
We envision a collaborative culture with a common purpose and clear goals in a professional learning community committed to the success of all the students. We will continually:
- Identify essential skills and concepts students must learn, determine levels of mastery, and evaluate progress through formative/summative assessments;
- Seek and implement research-based strategies for improving learning;
- Celebrate student and staff achievement;
- Create a safe, nurturing, equitable learning environment that is respected and valued by the students, staff, parents and community.
