Business Advisory Council Meeting

The next business advisory council meeting will be November 6th from 8:30-10:30.  We will continue to engage in a process of determining mission, vision and goals for the council.  Our location will be at the UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus.  Directions are as follows:

HBT 10011 Training Room Directions:

Come through main lobby and make a right at the gift shop go down the Administration hallway. Once you have come through the second set of brown doubles doors, make a left, then right and the training room HBT 10011 will be the first door on the right.

Principal & Assistant Principal of the Year Named for Orange County Schools

HILLSBOROUGH, NC 23 OCTOBER 2018- Orange County Schools (OCS) is proud to announce that Mr. Eric Yarbrough is the OCS Principal of the Year for 2018-19 and that Ms. Tenisha Williamson is the Assistant Principal of the Year for 2018-19.  Mr. Yarbrough is the Principal at Orange High School School, and Ms. Williamson is an Assistant Principal at A.L. Stanback Middle School.

There's Still Time to Sign up for Lego Blitz

We welcome our elementary and middle school students to join us for the  2018 Lego Blitz Build. This is a time for students to come together as a team and build while partnering with Habitat for Humanity!  The Lego Blitz  will be held on Thursday, October 18th. Normal Schedule Monday, September 17th

Orange County Schools will resume a normal schedule tomorrow for school and work. All of our schools are cleared to open, but please be aware that bus routes may require additional time tomorrow morning. We will monitor the conditions throughout the night and the morning. If a change needs to be made, we will alert you as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you at school tomorrow.

Hurricane Florence School closing September 2018

Due to impending hazardous weather related conditions that may arise due to Hurricane Florence, Orange County Schools will be closed on Thursday, September 13th and Friday, September 14th for students and staff. Early reports indicate the possibility for dangerous weather, sustained high winds, flooding,  property damage, and power outages. Weather events related to hurricanes can be unpredictable. Please take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and your family’s safety.

A regular school schedule will be in place for Wednesday, September 12th.

School System Academic Performance for 2017-18

HILLSBOROUGH, NC 5 SEPTEMBER 2018- For school systems across the state, school performance report cards have been released for the 2017-18 school year. Because of changes to the state’s accountability measurements required under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act, school grades, growth results and graduation rates for the 2017-18 school year are not comparable to past performance during the five years the state has assessed schools using A-F letter grades.
