HILLSBOROUGH, NC 27 OCTOBER 2017- Orange County Schools is proud to announce that Grady A. Brown Elementary Principal Leslie Bryant has been named Orange County Schools Principal of the Year. “It is an honor and privilege to support and serve our GAB Cougar Community. I am blessed to work with innovative and open minded individuals," Mrs. Bryant said.
Mrs. Bryant stated that it was her staff’s hard work and dedication to providing an engaging and supportive learning environment that helped Grady A. Brown to implement interdisciplinary lessons plans, allow student choice and see an increase in teacher collaboration.
“I am proud to be the principal of a school that emphasizes the importance of having a good character as well as one that seeks to provide a personalized learning experience for all of our students,” Mrs. Brown said.
Orange County Schools is also proud to recognize the 2017 - 2018 Assistant Principal of the Year Jayme Bell-Williams. Ms. Bell-Williams is the assistant principal at Central Elementary School. “Students thrive in a supportive environment rooted in partnerships between school, home, and the community and in which they are encouraged to be creative and work collaboratively with one another,” Ms. Bell-Williams said.
Two other assistant principals were nominated for the award: Will Okun from Orange High School and Minnie Goins from Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary.
