Mr. Tom Mullaney has been named a Certified Innovator by Google For Education. Only two educators from North Carolina were selected for this distinction, and only 35 educators in total were selected from around the world this year. Currently, Mr. Mullaney is the Digital Learning Coach at Gravelly Hill Middle School.
To become a Google For Education Certified Innovator, educators must demonstrate that they are ambassadors for change that empower other educators and students to change the world of education. Certified Innovators must show that they foster innovative cultures in their schools and communities. “This recognition reflects the innovation that takes place daily in the classrooms at Gravelly Hill,” said Mr. Mullaney.
This summer, Mr. Mullaney will travel to Boulder, Colorado to attend Google’s Innovation Academy. While there, he will work with other educators to tap the insights and resources of the Google For Education community. “I am excited to attend the the Google for Education Innovation Academy in Boulder, and I hope to use what I learn there to continue the successful integration of technology at Gravelly Hill and Orange County Schools,” added Mr. Mullaney.
