Youth Risk Behavior Survey(YRBS)

Our school system is taking part in the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) sponsored by the Orange County Health Department (OCHD) this year. The YRBS is a nationally used and CDC-approved method for collecting accurate and up-to-date information about student health. This is an incredibly important tool for OCS and other county programs and services, who use the information gathered to better support the students and families they serve. The survey includes questions about nutrition, physical activity, injuries, tobacco, alcohol and other drug use, school safety and mental health and takes about 45 minutes to complete.

The YRBS has been designed to protect your child’s privacy. Names are not attached to the survey or data in any way. We would like as many students as possible to take part in the surveyHowever, participation is completely voluntary. No action will be taken against the school, you, or your child, if your child does not take part. Students can also skip any question that they do not wish to answer or stop participating in the survey at any point without penalty.

Since some students may find certain questions to be sensitive, parent/guardian permission is required for them to participate.  You may provided consent using this digital permission form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9VB2P93
