2018 Laptop Distribution

1:1 Laptop Distribution

Gravelly Hill Middle School
4801 West Ten Road
Efland, NC 27243

We ask that families park in the back of the school and will provide signage to direct folks accordingly.  Students and their families will need to complete the required forms in the cafeteria and pick up their laptops in the gym.

The student must be present to receive their laptop.

When is Early Distribution taking place?

  • Wednesday, August 15 - 3:00 to 7:00 for students whose last names are between A and C

  • Thursday, August 16 - 3:00 to 7:00 for students whose last names are between D and J

  • Friday, August 17 - 3:00 to 7:00 for students whose last names are between K and Q

  • Monday, August 20 - 3:00 to 7:00 for students whose last names are between R and Z

  • Tuesday, August 21 - 3:00 to 7:00 - make up time for all students

How does the process work?

There are four stations each student goes through

Station 1 (cafeteria) - initial check in - student gets a registration sheet based on current enrollment status, confirms name and address

Station 2 (cafeteria) - payment - student pays $20 annual technology fee by cash, check or credit card. Waivers are also available at the payment station

Station 3 (gymnasium) - laptop assignment - student gets a laptop and charger assigned to them

Station 4 (gymnasium) - login - student logs in to the laptop, with assistance as needed

Student leaves with a working laptop and charger that have been assigned to them and paid for.

What is the Fee?

The Technology fee is $20 per student. It is a recurring annual fee. Funds are used to partially offset maintenance and other costs of the technology.  Waivers can be granted in accordance with district policy.

In order to expedite the pickup process, it is strongly encouraged that you pre-pay the $20.00 fee at www.k12paymentcenter.com.  Select the “SCHOOL FEES” option in the left toolbar.  Under “AVAILABLE FEES” please choose the appropriate school and student to pre-pay.  We suggest saving your receipt for quick proof of payment. You can also pay onsite, where we accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
