Back To School Cafeteria Efland Cheeks

The second day of school for traditional calendar students was just as exciting as the first! For many kindergarten students, this was also their very first day in the classroom. We are on our way into this new school year -- filling classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, buses, gymnasiums, and every learning space in our schools with the sounds of learning.

Clear Bags Only Orange County Schools 2024

As first announced for Graduation 2024, for the safety of all our students, staff, volunteers, and guests, Orange County Schools will follow a Clear Bag Policy for all athletic and public events starting with the 2024-2025 school year. All guests will be permitted to carry ONLY CLEAR BAGS into the stadium or venue. Bags must be no longer than 12 inches and made of clear plastic. Bags which do not comply will NOT be allowed under any circumstances.

From Our School Community

Jangi Hamby PES Assistant Principal

On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Board of Education approved Jangi Hamby, recommended by Superintendent Dr. Danielle Jones, as Assistant Principal for Pathways Elementary School, effective September 26, 2024.

OHS Honors Chem

Students in Honors Chemistry are already putting their minds to work on scientific notation, preparing for a successful semester!

Dress up as your favorite historical figure day! HES students and staff dressed up for learning and fun.

Every day is exciting for lifelong learners at Hillsborough Elementary School, and staff have been posting new stories about our joy for learning every day on our school's Instagram page. #makeasplash!

Avery Pipkin, CRHS Woodworking Teacher Credential Champion

Congratulations to Cedar Ridge High Woodworking Teacher, Avery Pipkin, for being named as a 23-24 Orange County CTE Credential Champion. 85% of Mr. Pipkin's Woodworking students earned an industry recognized credential in OSHA.

Assistant Principal John Wood

We'd like to welcome our new assistant principal, Mr. John V. Wood, into the Grizzly family! Mr. Wood has a background in ELA, social studies, and digital media/fine arts, and lives in Durham with his wife, a Wake Co. science teacher.

Bus Tour for New Hope Elementary, thanks to Chick Fil A

Our NHE School Bus Tour has been been amazing! So good to see our amazing families! Big shout out to Chick-fil-a from Carraway for providing the fun with their cow mascot and free goodies!

Back To School 2024 RPES

It takes everyone from bus drivers, cafeteria staff, maintenance and custodians to our classroom teachers, support staff, and administrators to make Back To School successful.

McMann Deloera Bus Seattle

Via NEWS OF ORANGE, Dale Edwards | It turns out, these two really can stand the heat, and could some day find careers in the finest kitchens in the nation.​Earlier this month, Orange High School students Kayla McMann and Sofia Deloera made the trip to Seattle to compete and participate in the National FCCLA Leadership Conference and earned silver medals!

Chris Palmer Central Elementary School

On Monday, August 19, 2024, the Board of Education approved Chris Palmer, recommended by Superintendent Dr. Danielle Jones, as Assistant Principal for Central Elementary School. His appointment is already in effect, and he is helping to prepare CES for the 2024-2025 school year.
