Orange County Schools Construction Projects to be Funded by 2024 School Bonds
Moving Forward

OCS is moving forward with construction projects for new and renovated facilities funded by the 2024 school bond.

Soon, the Board of Education will review applications for design and construction project management for a new K-5 elementary school, as well as facilities portfolio master-planning.

Our phenomenal custodial crew, Mr. Rose and Ms. Ana are integral in our day to day success. They can always be counted on for a helping hand and a warm smile. Thank you for all you do on National Custodian Day and everyday!

Community Schools Coordinator, Cherokee McAdoo, organized a 2nd year of our newly expanded, incredible mentoring program w/students from UNC + NCCU!

On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Board of Education approved Jangi Hamby, recommended by Superintendent Dr. Danielle Jones, as Assistant Principal for Pathways Elementary School, effective September 26, 2024.

GHMS enters 2024-25 school year with new AP, John Wood

We'd like to welcome our new assistant principal, Mr. John V. Wood, into the Grizzly family! Mr. Wood has a background in ELA, social studies, and digital media/fine arts, and lives in Durham with his wife, a Wake Co. science teacher.

NHE School Bus Tour!

Our NHE School Bus Tour has been been amazing! So good to see our amazing families! Big shout out to Chick-fil-a from Carraway for providing the fun with their cow mascot and free goodies!

Welcome Mr. Palmer, New AP for Central Elementary!

On Monday, August 19, 2024, the Board of Education approved Chris Palmer, recommended by Superintendent Dr. Danielle Jones, as Assistant Principal for Central Elementary School. His appointment is already in effect, and he is helping to prepare CES for the 2024-2025 school year.

OHS Culinary Students Earn Top 50 Spots at National FCCLA Conference

Via NEWS OF ORANGE, Dale Edwards | It turns out, these two really can stand the heat, and could some day find careers in the finest kitchens in the nation.​Earlier this month, Orange High School students Kayla McMann and Sofia Deloera made the trip to Seattle to compete and participate in the National FCCLA Leadership Conference and earned silver medals!
