We couldn’t be more excited to welcome back staff and our students in Grades 2-12 opting for in-person learning. They started returning February 22 as part of our two-week orientation sessions designed to acclimate students to the new safety procedures and protocols. (Students are joining their Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 peers who returned to school for in-person learning in October and January, respectively.)
For many of our Grades 2-12 students this is their first time back in our school buildings since last year and we couldn’t be more thrilled and ready for their return!
Families have until Friday, March 5th to change their Plan B option from in-person/remote to 100% remote or vice versa in order to provide schools the consistency needed to ensure social distancing and provide students the consistency needed for learning.
We’ve been preparing for our in-person students' return for months. The following 10-minute video highlights the safety protocols and work that’s been done to date in preparation for in-person learning. It is a celebration of the hard work and efforts of the entire OCS team! BRAVO!
While the Governor has eased restrictions, let’s continue to be vigilant in our efforts to adhere to the 3Ws by wearing a mask properly, waiting at least six feet apart, and washing our hands at our worksites, at home, and while out and about in the community.
*As a reminder, OCS will operate an alternating weeks schedule, Monday - Thursday, for in-person students with Fridays (Asynchronous Fridays) serving as remote learning days with small group instructional opportunities.
Important Calendar Reminder:
Due to the significant loss of instructional time, inclement weather days will be remote learning days during the 2020-2021 school year.
