    OCS Athletics: Fan/Spectator Attendance Policy

    UPDATED 2-8-2022

Beginning Tuesday, February 8th, Orange County Schools will shift to an increased fan/spectator attendance policy for athletic programming at schools.  Health and safety at OCS remain top priority, and we will continue to closely monitor the ongoing cases and data trends related to COVID-19 both at schools and in the surrounding community.  Additionally, all extracurricular events and activities at schools will follow the same fan/spectator restrictions. The information below outlines the policy for fans/spectators at OCS school athletic and extracurricular events.

    • Fans/Spectators – No fan/spectator limitations.
    • Indoor Masks: Masks are required indoors regardless of vaccination status, and must cover the nose and the mouth.

Outdoor Masks: Masks are optional outdoors.

    • Concessions: Concessions are allowed indoors and outdoors at OCS athletic events.

These changes will remain in effect until further notice.

OCS will continue to monitor the community transmission for COVID-19.  We will continue to follow guidance from our local health professionals and requirements from the NCDHHS StrongSchoolsNC Toolkit in order to keep our schools open, protect in-person learning and continue the athletic seasons with minimal interruptions.  Additional modifications may take place based on COVID-19 conditions or restrictions.
