Student Reassignment

  • Overcrowding in certain schools, program options, and recent legislation reducing K-3 class size, combined with the need to balance academic performance, socioeconomic indicators, and demographics require a plan to reassign students. In December 2023, the Orange County Board of Education resolved to consider plans that will take effect with the 2025-2026 school year.

    No reassignment plans will be put in place without many opportunities for public input and participation. Community input sessions are scheduled at sites throughout the district, and online for those who cannot attend in person. All sessions are listed on the Reassignment Calendar and Documents page.
