         It is my great privilege to be the principal of Hillsborough Elementary School. I previously served our community as the assistant principal of HES from 2017-2022. Prior to joining the dolphin pod, I worked at Pathways Elementary School as a principal intern and at Orange Middle School as a French and English Language Learners educator. I am originally from Charleston, SC where I taught at the middle and high school levels for seven years before moving to Orange County in 2011. My husband and I currently live in Mebane with our two boys and three pets. My motivation and joy for leading and teaching come from our innovative staff, amazing students, and dedicated families. HES is truly a special place to be!

    Mr. Jeffrey Bugajski

         I am thrilled to become part of the HES community!

         I am originally from MI and moved down here after undergrad. In 2012, I earned my first master's degree in Instructional Technology from ECU. In 2020, I earned my second master's degree in School Administration from NCCU. I have been an assistant principal in Durham since 2020. My educational passions are equity, instructional leadership, and building relationships with the school community. My husband and I have lived in Hillsborough for the past five years and are currently adopting two brothers, ages 4 and 6. I am excited to be at HES, a school with a rich culture and community ties and hope to continue to cultivate the partnerships between school, home, and the community.
