2020 - 2021 School Year

  • We are currently preparing for the new school year and like you, eager for things to resume to as close to normal as possible for our students. I know many of you have questions about the upcoming school year, we all do too.  While there is still uncertainty about next year, we can assure you that the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our priority.  Until we receive further guidance, we will continue to remain focused on providing positive learning experiences for students in a safe and caring environment and best preparing for the new school year. As we receive updates and guidance at the state and local levels, we will put those updates on this website. 

    June 10, 2020 - The North Carolina State Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction, in consultation and response to guidelines issued by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), have developed guidance to support public schools and communities in determining their plans and strategies for reopening schools.

    June 10, 2020 - The Lighting Our Way Forward: Summary Document provides an overview and synthesis of NCDHHS requirements, clear, actionable steps that are advisable before students and employees return to school buildings, and guidance that is applicable throughout the 2020-2021 school year.
