• OCS Board Extends Remote Learning to the First Nine Weeks

    On July 20, the Board of Education approved a recommendation to start the new school year under Plan C - fully remote for nine weeks.  All of our students will start the year fully remote and will receive all instruction online for the first nine weeks.  This includes students enrolled in the Virtual Academy and those who will eventually return to school for in-person instruction when it is safe to do so. <For more information>


    During the Fall of 2020, the OCS Technology Department will prioritize:

    • Ensuring that all students and staff have access to working technology;
    • Collaborating with various departments, community partners, businesses, and others, as needed, in problem-solving efforts to ensure all students and staff have reliable internet access to complete their work remotely;
    • Optimizing support efficiencies to provide stability and reliability across our systems for all end users;
    • Introducing new tools and applications in a way that continues to offer flexibility, but also moves towards a model of standardization to provide more robust support for an overall portfolio of systems that are secure, stable, and effective.
