Parent Nights
Parent Nights, held across the district, focus on a current trending topic that was chosen to keep families and parents in the know. Held in the evenings at a designated school. These nights will occur throughout the school year.

Pre-K, Ready, Set, Go--for Kindergarten! / Pre-K, Ready, Set, Go - para el Kinder!
These workshops are designed with your pre-k child in mind. While this is not a "Pre-K' class-it is our goal to create a workshop for Kindergarten ready children to help them with their fine motor skills, writing & simple tasks that will be needed as they prepare to enter into kindergarten. These classes held on Mondays at Pre-K Building Located at 402 N. Nash Street/ Hillsborough Elementary School Hillsborough, NC 27278. Classes are free and open to the parents and families of in-coming Orange County School Students.
Classes begin October 11th.
Adult ESL Classes / Adultos Clases de ESL
Held in the evenings on Monday and Wednesday at Efland Cheeks Elementary and between 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The Adult ESL class helps non-native speakers improve their communication in English while increasing their breadth of knowledge of American Culture.
Conversation English, pronunciation, reading, writing, and grammar are offered in this free course offered by the Orange County Literacy Council. Also, Adult ESL Classes are being held at New Hope Elementary and at between 5:30 - 7:30 PM on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Child Care is provided for children over four years.

Educational Outreach
Orange County Schools provides an array of tutoring, special services, and educational support to help bridge the gap for our ESL students. Parents needing educational support for their child and/or ESL Services should first contact their child's school. Click here.
Avancemos
Held in the evenings for our youth between 8th through 12th grade and their families, Avancemos is a 3 Week Workshop featuring a variety of topics. Some of these topics include your child's educational goals, school/college & career transition, college & application process and many more. Dinner and childcare are provided. Starting at 5:45 on Thursday evenings in the Fall. Please contact Sandra Blefko with questions/concerns.
