      Computer Login

      • All computer logins are related to your name and your birthdate.
        • firstname.lastnameSbirthdate
      • In the example below, the student is John Smith and his birthdate is May 22
        • Example: john.smithS22

      Computer Password

      • All new students must change their computer passwords. The new password must be at least 8 characters long.
      • We suggest you choose a word you will remember and alter it with numbers and symbols to make it more difficult for someone else to discover. John's favorite password is treefrog.
        • Example: Tr33frog!

      Gmail

      • Gmail is the Orange County Schools email provider.

      Gmail Login

      • Your school email address first.lastnamesbirthdate@orange.k12.nc.us
        • Example: john.smithS22@orange.k12.nc.us 

      Gmail Password

      • Students' Gmail password is the same as the computer login password.
        • Example: Tr33frog!

        If you are having issues with your computer please try the following steps before submitting a ticket.

        First Steps of Computer Trouble Shooting

        • Close all tabs in the browsers
        • Check to ensure the computer is up to date
          • On your computer, open Chrome.
          • At the top right, click More
          • Click Help then Click About Google Chrome.
          • The current version number is the series of numbers beneath the "Google Chrome" heading. Chrome will check for updates when you're on this page.

            • You may have to click update or restart your computer once the update has run
        • Close the browser
        • Restart the computer

        Remote Learning Tech Ticket

        In place of submitting a Tech Ticket online through the usual website, all tech support is now being done through the  IT Support Help Line (919-245-4014).

        If the IT Support Help Line is busy, please email ocshelpdesk@orange.k12.nc.us. This will create a help ticket. Please ensure the email contains:

        • Student (staff) name
        • Phone number
        • Description of the problem

        IT will call back and work through the issue on the phone.

        Note: Laptop Switch out for broken computers is only happening on Monday’s at Gravely Hill. Be sure to have your email or phone submitted as soon as possible as there is a waitlist for laptop switch-outs.

        First Steps for Ed Tech Trouble Shooting

        1. Close all tabs in the browsers

        NcEdCloud Trouble Shooting

        1. Do Not bookmark the NcEdCloud log in page
        2. Make sure you are login into the NcEdCloud using the following link: https://my.ncedcloud.org/
        3. Double-check to make sure you are typing your Studnet Number correctly and the caps lock button is not pressed when entering your password.

        zSclaer 

        • Zscaler is the firewall/antivirus software for Orange County Schools.
        • You must log in to Zscaler in order to use the internet.

        zScaler Login

        • Your school email address

        If you are having issues loading websites including Edpuzzle and YouTube:

        1. Click Here to log out of zSclaer
        2. Click Here to log back into zScaler
        3. Close this tab and reload the chrome browser

        EdPuzzle/Youtube

        If you are having issues accessing EdPuzzle and you have already log out of and back into zScaler  follow the steps below

        1. Log out of any personal account you may have logged into YouTube with on your school laptop 
        2. Log into YouTube with your OCS google account.

    CANVAS

    • What is it?

      Canvas is the primary learning management system for teachers and students at OHS. Students will access course content created by their teachers for each of their courses through Canvas. Each course will have its own Canvas Course that students will access. Students will access Canvas through the NcEdCloud

      Parent Observer Account

      Parents (Observers) can link their Parent Canvas account to their student's account so they can see assignment dues dates, announcements, and other course content. Observers can view the course content but cannot participate in the course.

    POWERSCHOOL

    • What Is It?

      PowerSchool is a suite of tools to monitor student progress and communicate with teachers. Real-time notifications about new grades and attendance. PowerSchool makes it easy for students and parents to get and stay involved with convenient, time-saving solutions to track and monitor their students’ progress.

      Student Access

      Students can access PowerSchool through the NcEdCloud using their student number (lunch number) and a password they created. Students are encouraged to check their PowerSchool account regularly to check their grades and attendance records.
