Computer Login
- All computer logins are related to your name and your birthdate.
- firstname.lastnameSbirthdate
- In the example below, the student is John Smith and his birthdate is May 22
- Example: john.smithS22
Computer Password
- All new students must change their computer passwords. The new password must be at least 8 characters long.
- We suggest you choose a word you will remember and alter it with numbers and symbols to make it more difficult for someone else to discover. John's favorite password is treefrog.
- Example: Tr33frog!

- If you have forgotten your password, please visit the following site: reset.orange.k12.nc.us
Chromebook Troubleshooting Steps
Make sure the student laptop is up to date
- Turn on your Chromebook
- At the bottom right, select the time
- Select Settings
- At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS
- Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses
- Select Check for updates
- If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically
- You may need to restart the computer once the update(s) run
Remove Extensions
- Open Chrome.
- Select More
More tools
Extensions.
- Next to the extension, you want to remove, select Remove.
- To confirm, select Remove.

Tip: To remove an extension that's a button on the browser toolbar, right-click the button and select Remove from Chrome.
