Due to the impact of the various COVID-19 variants and potential inclement weather, we want to be prepared should a classroom, a school or the whole district have to shift to remote teaching and learning. This would only be temporary and we will need to be ready to shift with only a short notice.
**If your child's class or school must shift to remote learning, details about how to access class materials and class login information will come directly from your child's school/teacher.
Please see the information below and use it as a general guide.

Per Senate Bill 654, school districts no longer have the authority to shift the entire district to remote learning in response to COVID-19. However, school districts can shift individual classrooms and schools to remote learning on a temporary basis due to COVID-19 exposures resulting in insufficient school personnel or required student quarantines. Additionally, school districts can use remote learning districtwide for up to five days (or 30 remote instruction hours) when schools are unable to open due to severe weather conditions, energy shortages, power failures, or other emergency situations.
If needed, Orange County Schools is prepared to close individual classrooms and schools in response to COVID-19 per the parameters outlined in Senate Bill 654.
