Board Meetings

Please note the date and location change for the special called business meeting.
Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Orange County Board of Education, 200 East King Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278. The meeting begins with a Closed session for a business meeting at 6:00 p.m. Open session is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

This meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed on the OCS YouTube channel. Meeting agendas are posted here. (Also contains approved minutes for past meetings.)

Public Participation

SIGN-UP PROCESS FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS

Anyone who wishes to make public comments during an Orange County Board of Education meeting must arrive (in-person) prior to the meeting’s scheduled start time to sign up.

An official, paper sign-up form will be made available at the entrance to the meeting space from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Once the meeting has been called to order, no one else will be permitted to sign up.

SPECIAL CALLED MEETINGS: For special called meetings, the Board may, but is not required to provide a process for comments.

IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER: In case of inclement weather resulting in school closures on the day of a scheduled Board of Education meeting, the scheduled Board meeting will be held virtually. Individuals who were registered to give in-person public comments can access the meeting via the link on the OCS Board webpage.

Simbli, helps boards automate and simplify everyday tasks through software that facilitates paperless meetings, strategic planning, policy management, board evaluations, document management, and communications.

How does OCS use it: OCS uses it to send BOE meeting agendas to the Board & public and post all content for Board meetings including meeting minutes. We also use it to present the Strategic Plan and progress towards outcome goals.
