Orange County Schools has seven elementary schools committed to providing a strong academic foundation for lifelong learning.

In addition to the core academic program based on the NC Standard Course of Study (NC SCOS), OCS offers enrichment and intervention programs at each K-5 school to enhance, expand, and strengthen students’ skills. Some of the programs are provided for all students while others are provided based on identified student needs. These programs include:

  • Art, music, health and physical education, technology
  • AIG and Exceptional Children’s Programs
  • Spanish
  • English as a Second Language

End-of-Year Results

These NC Department of Public Instruction charts show the numbers of students who demonstrated proficiency, along with the numbers who did not and who qualified for summer reading camp, for the latest year available.

OCS Math at Home Resources

Visit the Orange County Schools Math Learning Center!

Orange County Schools strives to partner with families to help all students be successful in mathematics. This website provides strategies and activities that families can work on with their child. With the help of K-5 Math Coaches and Teachers, this content was possible!

By using the Math Learning Center, students will learn strategies to add, subtract, multiply, and divide during their weekly math instruction at school. The videos on this website will explain the different strategies that students may be using to solve math problems. OCS encourages families to use these videos to understand the strategies when supporting your student with schoolwork. OCS has also provided activities on the website that can help support your child’s math understanding.
