CERTIFIED STAFF SALARIES:

Local Supplement for Certified Staff Paid On Teacher Contracts:

 

Teacher Supplement Schedule
Teachers are paid on the North Carolina State Salary Schedules plus the following:

6-13 14%
14-20 16%
20+ 18%

 

Local Supplement For Principals & Assistant Principals:

 

Principals Salary Schedule
Principals are paid on the North Carolina State Salary Schedules plus the following:

Elementary 17.5% 1-3 years $125.00 per month
Middle 25% 4 years $250.00 per month
High 35% 5+ years $416.67 per month
Assistant Principals Salary Schedule
Assistant Principals are paid on the North Carolina State Salary Schedules plus the following:

***Local supplements are based on TOTAL years of service listed on the North Carolina Educators License, including years of service with Orange County Schools.

CLASSIFIED STAFF SALARIES:

  • See Classified Salary Schedules (Grades 57-79, including Transportation and Child Nutrition - updated July 11, 2024)
  • 7% local supplement for classified employees
  • 9% local supplement for classified employees in coordinator positions
  • Bus Driver Incentives:
    • Paid medical examination fee;
    • Reimbursement of CDL license fee: 
    • Retention Bonus:
      • Entry Level and 1–2 Years at $250
      • 3-4 Years at $500 5+ Years at $1,000
    • Attendance Bonus:
      • $250 Driver perfect attendance bonus (Per 9 weeks)
    • Sign on bonus tiers:
      • $2,500 Signing bonus for Drivers ($1,250 paid within the first 30 days of employment and $1,250 paid after 90 days of employment)
      • $1,250 Signing bonus for Safety Assistants who also are Drivers ($625 within the first 30 days and $625 after 90 days of employment)
      • $600 Signing bonus for Safety Assistants who are not Drivers ($300 within the first 30 days and $300 after 90 days of employment)
    • $1,000 Technician tool allowance ($500 paid in two installments) 
  • School Nurse Incentives:
    • Tuition Reimbursement for individuals still working on a bachelor's degree (up to $10,000.00, must be pre-approved, contract requirements)
    • Reimbursement for National School Nurse Certification Original and Renewal Fee
    • $200.00 per year reimbursement for CEU credits
