Driver's Education

To be eligible for Driver’s Education, the student must be 14 ½ years of age at the time of registration in order to take the class. Students must be currently enrolled at either Orange High School, Cedar Ridge High School, or Partnership Academy.
Students Must Register Directly
The enrollment form in the next section of this web page is only for students.
No parent or guardian may register a student for Driver's Education.
Every student must use their Orange County Schools student email to register for Driver's Education.

2025-2026 Sessions
Enrollment & Registration for the online class portion of 2025-2026 Driver's Ed Sessions will begin on Mondays at 8:00 (am) and the registration window will close on Fridays at 11:59 (pm). Early or late registration will not be accepted.
There are four sessions for the 2025-2026 School Year. Students may only choose one class to attend, and only students (using their student email address) are permitted to register.
Session 1 Registration: September 15-19
Session 1 Classes: September 29 - October 17
Session 2 Registration: November 17-21
Session 2 Classes: December 1 - December 19
Session 3 Registration: January 5-9 (2026)
Session 3 Classes: January 26 - February 13 (2026)
Session 4 Registration: April 27 - May 1 (2026)
Session 4 Classes: May 11 - June 1 (2026)

- The USDT provides information on national safety issues, domestic and foreign travel procedures and nationwide road conditions.
- Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
- This non-profit, scientific, educational organization provides current crash test results, safety feature reviews, vehicle ratings and safety laws & regulations.

- NHTSA is a national organization whose mission is to save lives, prevent injuries and reduce vehicle related crashes.
- National Transportation Safety Board
- NTSB is a national organization that provides publications, recommendations and safety alerts.

- NCDTSEA is the professional organization which represents traffic safety educators in North Carolina.
