OCS Family Updates - July 8, 2025
Power has been restored to all Orange County Schools locations, and all programs will operate on regular schedule for Tuesday, July 8.
This includes 5-Day Meal Boxes and Open Meal Sites for all children 18 and under provided by School Nutrition Services:
- Meal boxes with five days of breakfast and lunch are available today (Tuesday) at Pathways Elementary School from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday at Gravelly Hill Middle School from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
- NOTE: If you missed picking up meals at New Hope Elementary this Monday, you can pick up meals for your child this week at either Pathways or Gravelly Hill.
Orange County is providing updates on readiness and recovery for the whole community at readyorange.org, including three important notes below:
- Boil Water Notice: The Town of Hillsborough is under a “Boil Water Notice” which means that, as a precaution, no one in the Town of Hillsborough should drink, cook, clean, wash, or brush teeth with tap water that has not been boiled until the advisory is lifted. This includes all sinks and water fountains.
- Free bottled water is being given away on Tuesday, July 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hillsborough Commons, 113 Mayo Street. First-come, first-served, one case per vehicle while supplies last.
- If you need help cleaning up damage from Tropical Storm Chantal, call 910-218-1569. Crisiscleanup.org will connect you with volunteers from local relief organizations who may be able to assist with muck out, trees, tarping, and debris removal.
Stay safe and stay tuned for further updates!
