Orange Middle Wins State Battle of the Books, May 1

OMS Chargers Win 2025 State Battle of the Books Competition!

After winning the district contest and also their second straight regional championship, the Orange Middle School team just won the 2025 Middle School State Battle of the Books Competition today! Congratulations to the OMS Chargers and their advisors Mrs. Hali Pyles and Mrs. Heather Leonard on a job well done!

Health and Wellness Fair Saturday, May 3

Mental Health Awareness Month, stickers in a basket to help raise awareness

Come on out to Orange High School this Saturday! Enjoy fun, fitness, food, and fellowship with folks who help youth and families enjoy safe and healthy options here in Orange County. Join us from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the OHS gym. Everyone in the community is invited, with Hip Hop Step and Zumba classes at 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., loads of vendors with self-care items, free chicken sandwiches (first come, first served), and so much more!

Not all heroes wear capes! School Nutrition Staff at A L Stanback Middle School celebrate National School Breakfast Week

Please show love and support – on Friday, May 2 and every day – to our School Lunch Heroes, our amazing cafeteria staff who help serve delicious and nutritious meals every day so that students can be ready to learn all day long. See you at breakfast and lunch! Learn more here.
 

Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5-9

We are excited to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week May 5-9 in our schools! Look for features on our website and social media about the wonderful, dedicated teachers who lead in our classrooms and serve the students of Orange County Schools. We will also be sharing additional ways you can send appreciation to teachers. Stay tuned for more information!
 

$10 Sports Physicals (Exact Change, Cash Only) Tuesday, May 20

SPECIAL EVENT! Duke Health will offer any rising seventh- through twelfth-grade student athlete (current or future) sports physicals for only $10 (cash only, exact change) on Tuesday, May 20 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Duke Sports Physical Therapy Clinic in Durham. Pre-registration is required! No credit cards will be eligible for payment.

Note: At the Durham event, athletes may be seen without a parent present if the athlete comes with a completed permission form. Learn more in the attached flyer or the Duke Health website, and speak to your school’s athletic director if you need more information.

All the fun of summer day camp comes to Hillsborough! Enjoy action-packed days with games, sports, creative arts & crafts, pool time and more.
