Outstanding Holocaust Educator of the Year
Selena Masse of Orange Middle School was recently named Outstanding Holocaust Educator of the Year (K-12) by the NC Center for Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Education of North Carolina, first-ever in the center’s history. See the OCS website.
Governor's Teacher Advisory Council
Amanda Aguayo of Gravelly Hill Middle School has been named by Governor Josh Stein to the Governor’s Teacher Advisory Council. Read on Education NC.
Kenan Fellows for Teacher Leadership
- Savannah Patterson of Cedar Ridge High School and Kumar Sathy, OCS Equity Facilitator, recently completed their 2024-2025 year as Kenan Fellows, a selective leadership development program at NC State University for public school teachers.
- Andromeda Crowell of Orange High School is one of the faculty members who operate and lead the Kenan Fellows program.
- And Xavier Adams of Orange High School has been named to one of 30 seats in the Kenan Fellows for 2025-2026.
