Veterans Day

Monday, November 11 is Veterans Day. All OCS schools and facilities will be closed for the holiday. Please join us in honoring our alumni, families, staff, and community members who have served honorably in our nation’s armed forces. Thank you, veterans!

School Bond Approved

Thank you to our community! In the 2024 general election, voters approved the Orange County School Bond and authorized the $300 million general obligation (GO) bond to repair, renovate, and replace facilities in Orange County Schools and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Learn more and stay up to date here on our website.
 

OCS Family Academy, November 14

Parents, connect with us on Thursday, November 14 at Gravelly Hill Middle School for “Understand Your Child’s Rights,” an interactive parent session offered by OCS Family Academy

Learn how you can advocate for your child’s rights and journey with us as partners to support your child’s needs. A food truck will sell dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. Executive Director of Exceptional Children and Pre-K Services, Stacey Burns, will host an interactive discussion from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. We hope to see you there! Orange County Schools is excited to announce that Mr. Jean Pierre “JP” Joubert of A.L. Stanback Middle School has been selected as our NC DPI 2024 Educator of Excellence!

This honor recognizes Mr. Joubert’s extraordinary commitment, skill, and compassion in working with students with disabilities. He will be formally recognized at a ceremony for all EC Teachers of Excellence in the state in Greensboro next week. Learn more here on our website.
