OCS Remote Learning Day #3 Wednesday, January 28, 2026 - Facilities Closed
Wednesday, January 28, 2026 will be the third Remote Learning Day for Orange County Schools.
This is our third school day with students learning at home, and all schools and facilities will remain closed. All athletics and after-school activities for Wednesday are canceled.
Roughly half of the secondary roads in our county are icy and hazardous for travel right now, and freezing temperatures will continue throughout the morning on Wednesday. Our OCS Operations teams are busily preparing campuses to reopen safely, and we are thankful for our collaboration with NC Department of Transportation, law enforcement, and emergency services to help us assess road conditions across our region.

Students and staff in all grade levels (K-12) will continue in remote learning on Wednesday. A decision has not been made about school on Thursday, and the district will make that announcement as early as possible on Wednesday.
What If I Need Help?
Check for messages from your child’s school, and visit the Remote Learning page on the OCS website. For information on weather and emergency preparedness, see our update from Sunday, January 25.
