OCS Remote Learning Day Thursday, February 20, 2025 - Facilities Closed
Dear Orange County Schools Community,
Thursday, February 20, 2025 will be the second Remote Learning Day for Orange County Schools.
This is another school day with students learning at home, and all schools and facilities will be closed. All athletics and after-school activities for Thursday are canceled.
With very low temperatures tonight, roads will be icy and unsafe for travel on Thursday. Students in all grade levels (K-12) will be in remote learning. Plans and resources for students and families were sent home by schools earlier this week, along with this announcement from the district Tuesday evening.
A decision has not been made about school on Friday, and the district will make that announcement as early as possible on Thursday.
What If I Need Help?
If you have questions or need support during a Remote Learning Day:
- Contact your child’s teacher. Use email or other platforms (such as Class Dojo) to contact your child’s teacher directly.
- Call your child’s school. Phone lines will be monitored, and schools will answer voicemails as soon as possible.
- In case of Chromebook issues:
- Click here to request help with a student Chromebook.
- Note: OCS Technology cannot provide support for personal devices or issues with internet or WiFi access.
- You can also email TechHelp@orange.k12.nc.us (include school name and a description of the problem) or call 919-245-4014 (Mon–Fri, 7AM to 5PM) for assistance on a Remote Learning Day.
Please remember, we will announce a decision for Friday as early as possible on Thursday. We hope you and your family stay safe and warm, and keep learning!
Have a great evening,
Orange County Schools
