Schools Closed Tuesday, February 3, 2026 - Inclement Weather

Orange County Schools will be CLOSED for students and staff on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. 

Snow and ice remain on nearly all the secondary roads in our area which will refreeze overnight and Tuesday morning. All OCS schools and facilities are closed. All athletic and after-school activities are canceled. There is no remote instruction on Tuesday, February 3. 

Calendar Updates

Monday, February 16, originally an optional workday for all schools, is being converted to a student day for traditional and year-round calendars. Attendance really matters! Other updates:

• Thursday, February 5: Ready, Set, Kindergarten is also on schedule at the OC Sportsplex from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. REGISTER NOW!
• Wednesday, February 11: Black History Month Celebration, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Orange High School (500 Orange High School Rd.)
• We continue to observe Black History Month, Career and Technical Education Month, and Love the Bus Month! Follow OCS social media for updates.

OCS Attendance Week kicked off Monday morning! Watch our website orangecountyfirst.com, YouTube channel, and social media for new video messages each morning this week.

To celebrate “Wear Your Colors Day” today and show off your school colors, or "Wear Green for Mental Health Awareness" on Tuesday, you can simply:

• Reply to the email you received this evening from (ocs.information@orange.k12.nc.us)
• Post to social media and tag OCS or use hashtags #OCSAttendanceWeek and #BeHereToGetThere to help us find and repost your photos!
