Alli Couch Named NCDPI Exceptional Children's Educator of Excellence for Orange County Schools

 

Alli Couch, Exceptional Children’s (EC) Teacher at River Park Elementary School, has been named the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) EC Educator of Excellence for Orange County Schools!

Stacey Burns, Executive Director of EC and Pre-K Services recognized Couch at the November 17 Board of Education meeting, saying:

“Ms. Couch has been a valued member of Orange County Schools and has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

“Ms. Couch is a student-centered educator whose passion for teaching is evident in every interaction. She approaches her work with positivity, patience, and professionalism, ensuring that each student feels valued, supported, and capable of success. 

“She creates inclusive learning environments that foster independence and growth while setting high expectations for her students. Her ability to design engaging, specially designed instruction and adapt strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners is a testament to her skill and dedication.” 

The NCPDI Office of Exceptional Children will be convening for their 74th EC Conference, 50 Years of IDEA: Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future in Greensboro from November 20-21. On Thursday, November 20, Couch and over 100 educators from across the state will be recognized and awarded the Educator of Excellence Award.
