The Board of Education will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Whitted Building, 300 W. Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278 for its annual organizational meeting and swearing-in of Board Members.
The agenda for the meeting has two items. The first order of business will be to swear in newly-elected Board Members Carrie Doyle, Bonnie Hauser, and Wendy Padilla. The Board's second task will be for the seven members to appoint a Chair and Vice Chair for the 2024-2025 school year.

Tonight, September 23, Cedar Ridge High School sophomore Calla Lundberg will be recognized at the Board of Education Meeting for being nominated as one of 24 members of the NCHSAA Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
Ten out of 13 schools in Orange County Schools earned a school performance grade of C or higher for the 2023-2024 school year, and 12 out of 13 schools met or exceeded growth targets, well above the state averages for both achievement and growth.
As first announced for Graduation 2024, for the safety of all our students, staff, volunteers, and guests, Orange County Schools will follow a Clear Bag Policy for all athletic and public events starting with the 2024-2025 school year. All guests will be permitted to carry ONLY CLEAR BAGS into the stadium or venue. Bags must be no longer than 12 inches and made of clear plastic. Bags which do not comply will NOT be allowed under any circumstances.
