David Hughes Named December 2025 Classified Employee of the Month!

Congratulations to David Hughes, OCS Transportation Technician, for being named OCS Classified Employee of the Month for December 2025! 

This program organized by OCS Human Resources recognizes classified employees—non-licensed staff—who provide essential support services to the school system and work in positions such as:

• Administrative staff (e.g., office assistants, clerks)
• Custodians and maintenance workers
• Bus drivers and transportation staff
• Teacher assistants (paraprofessionals)
• School nutrition staff
• Technology support personnel
• Physical and Occupational Therapists

David Hughes was nominated by a close colleague, and here’s why: 

“David Hughes, Transportation Technician, has been a dedicated OCS employee for 6+ years and a member of Orange County his entire life, and attended OCS. He always has a great attitude as well as always leading by example.  David will always step up to do whatever is asked of him and do it in the utmost professional manner.

“David Hughes is very often found on a bus either transporting students and/or working on the bus to ensure all OCS students and staff have a safe, reliable vehicle. He always greets everyone with a smile and does whatever it takes to make them have a great day.

“David Hughes is definitely a great employee and a very important asset to the district. I truly love his aura and leadership with his peers.”
