New Assistant Principal Named for Cedar Ridge High School

At the July 20, 2026 specially called meeting, the Orange County Schools Board of Education approved the recommendation of Yancill De Morla as an Assistant Principal at Cedar Ridge High School.

Mr. De Morla joins Cedar Ridge High School with over 10 years of experience in public education, most recently serving as Principal Intern at Ben L. Smith High School in Guilford County Schools. Before his role as Principal Intern, he spent nine years in the classroom as a Spanish teacher at Welborn Middle School and an English learner teacher at Sylvia Mendez Newcomer School. 

De Morla earned his Bachelor of Science in Spanish Language and Literature and Bachelor of Arts in International and Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and his Master’s of School Administration as a NC Principal Fellow at Western Carolina University. He holds licenses in EL K-12, Spanish K-12 and School Administrator: Principal.
