OCS Finance Team Earns Excellence in Financial Reporting for FY2025

Congratulations to the Orange County Schools Finance team for receiving the ASBO International (Association of School Business Officials) Certificate in Excellence (COE) in Financial Reporting for their Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report!

This is the ninth year this team has been recognized by ASBO International.

The COE is awarded to school districts that demonstrate and uphold excellence in financial reporting and transparency. Districts must apply, but not all that apply are awarded.

For a school district to earn the COE, they must:

  • Prepare annual financial statements following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP),
  • Issue an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), and
  • Submit their ACFR for evaluation in the COE program.

The award letter for the Fiscal Year 2025 Comprehensive Financial Report stated:

“Clear and accurate financial reporting is crucial for engaging school communities and building their trust. Districts that earn the COE have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to these principles.”

We would like to thank Dawn Kirkpatrick and Holly Nichols (not pictured) for their hard work during FY2025 that contributed to the success of the team! The two retired from Orange County Schools in May 2026.

Please join us in congratulating the OCS Finance team for their continued success!
