Why I am a Teacher: To become a coach, “There is no doubt, that if I had not become involved in the sports I would have never had the confidence to accomplish many of my successes in life. Having learning disabilities, and coming from a single-parent home, lowered my self-confidence as a teenager. The relationships built with coaches and athletes have given me a lifetime of inspiration and self-confidence. This is not to say that I have never struggled in life. However, the personal push that participating in sports gives you, leads to the development of courage to overcome life struggles. I needed to be a part of a team that would give me this platform to reach kids, and the classroom was my best option. I see the same faces year in and year out. We have become a family for life. This bond is important for anyone to experience; especially young adults.”
Heroes: My Mom, Grandparents, Wife, and Children: They all face life with optimism and have embraced me in my times of need.
