Why I am a Teacher: I wanted to become a teacher just so I could coach. Then a funny thing happened, I realized that the same qualities that make a good coach also make a good teacher. I quickly learned to love teaching as much as I loved coaching. 27 years later I'm still loving it.
Heroes: Jesus of Nazareth - a simple man from humble beginnings who didn't let the world define him. He stayed true to his convictions throughout his life. He honored his father, forgave his enemies, and loved so strongly that he was willing to sacrifice his life for others. We could all learn a few lessons from that guy.

Why I am a Teacher: I wanted to be a positive role model for kids. An educator students could trust and know they care. I want to help students understand the present by learning about the past.
Heroes: One is a family member my Aunt Betty Mae. She battled Muscular Dystrophy her entire life. She spent 50 years of her life in a wheelchair and lived her life to the fullest. She served others, wrote books and letters, and never allowed her sickness to slow down her motivation to live. The other is my dad. He has shown me in life you work hard for everything you get and always remain humble. He has personally rescued me numerous times when I have been in trouble. His actions have always spoken louder than his words.
