As the temperature drops and the time changes, students can look forward to a shortened week for the first week of November! Find your children's schools to find news, events and updates for the upcoming school week.

Quick District Reminders:

Tuesday, Nov. 7 is Election Day and students will NOT have school and the day will serve as district wide teacher workday
Friday, Nov. 10 is Veterans day and students will NOT have school

New Hope Elementary

Readathon week was a SUCCESS!
- Thanks to your donations, NHE exceeded their goal of raising $3000 for the PTSA!
- The donation link is still open throughout November if you would like to keep donating
- Congratulations to the seven classes that won the free trip to see the Magic Treehouse Show at the Morehead Planetarium on Dec. 5!

Pathways Elementary School

Makeup Picture Day will be Wednesday, Nov. 8 for missed pictures from the original picture day date

Riverpark Elementary School

“Bedtime Stories from Around the World” Event
- The time has finally come for students to hear stories from different countries, cultures and heritages tonight, Monday, Nov. 6, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Turkey Grams - Fifth Grade Fundraiser: Help support the River Park 5th Graders as they try to raise funds for their upcoming 5th Grade field trip and promotion celebration by sending Turkey Grams to your friends at school. Turkey Grams are $1 each and will be sold near the front lobby each morning from 7:15-7:45 from November 6th - 15th. Turkey Grams will be delivered to your friends on Thursday, November 16th.

PSTA Spirit Night Fundraiser (English)(Spanish)
- The Spirit Night Fundraiser will be held at Jersey Mikes this Tuesday, Nov. 7 and 50% of the proceeds will go to the OMS PTSA
Football and Cheer OPAC Championship vs Culbreth Middle School
- Thursday, Nov. 9 at Orange High School

- Monday, Nov 6: Winter Sports Start (Grade checks and Eligibility will be first)
  - Wrestling Starts: Mat Room 3:25 to 5:45 p.m.
  - Basketball Optional Open Gym #1: Girls 3:25 to 4:25 p.m. Boys 4:45 to 6 p.m. (Boys must go home and come back in for check in- no staying after school)
  - Football/cheer practice
- Tuesday, Nov 7.
  - No school - no athletic events scheduled
- Wednesday, Nov. 8
  - Wrestling: Mat Room 3:25 to 5:45 p.m.

Orange High School

Volleyball and Cross Country were the state runner ups after this weekend's competitions!
The OHS Theatre’s “Badger” has been selected to attend the State finals of the NCTC High School Play Festival!
Gigi ElBitar won Outstanding Achievement in Acting (the top individual acting award), Autumn Maivia won Excellence in Acting, and they were also recognized for Excellence in Set and Lighting (congrats to our set, lighting, and stage management teams for making this possible).

Cedar Ridge High School

College Visits - All college visits will take place during Ridge Time and attendance will be taken through AllTimely so please be sure to sign up. Any students interested in the visiting schools are welcome to come.
