Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday, November 5
Remember to adjust all your clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 5 at 2:00 a.m.!
Events for Friday, November 3
The All-County Middle School Band concert is tonight at 6:30 p.m. at A.L. Stanback Middle School. Also tonight, Orange High travels to Southern Alamance in the first round of the 3A football playoffs. Good luck to everyone taking the stage or the field tonight!
Reassignment Update, Monday, November 6
The Board of Education will receive another update on community input and revised draft maps on Monday, November 6, after the first series of community input meetings about Redistricting and Reassignment for the 2024-2025 school year. New dates for community meetings will be announced after the Board meeting Monday night on the district website.
No School Next Tuesday and Friday
- Tuesday, November 7 is a Required Teacher Workday for Election Day. No school for students Tuesday.
- Friday, November 10, we will observe Veterans Day (Saturday, November 11 is the holiday), and OCS schools and facilities will be closed for staff and students. Thank you to our veterans for your service in defense of our country!
Join OCS Family Academy and Orange Partnership to learn about drug trends targeting our youth. Zoom meeting: Wednesday, November 8 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Please come and join us, as we partner with Orange Partnership for Alcohol and Drug-Free Youth to share resources. State Competitions: 3A Cross-Country and Volleyball, Saturday, November 4
Cross-country runners from Cedar Ridge High School and Orange High School will compete in the 3A state championships Saturday in Kernersville, NC. Starting at noon, Orange High School will also take on Kings Mountain for the 3A state volleyball championship in Raleigh, NC. Good luck to everyone competing at the highest level on Saturday!
OPAC Football Championship, Thursday, November 9
Orange Middle will host Culbreth Middle (CHCCS) in the OPAC Football Championship on Thursday, November 9, at Auman Stadium (Orange High School). Kickoff is at 5:00 p.m., and anyone under 5 or over 60 years of age may attend the game for free. Concessions will be served, and the OMS Band and Color Guard will perform. This will be an exciting night!
The Orange County Health Department wants to hear from you!
During the listening sessions, health department staff will share highlights from the recent Community Health Assessment Opinion survey and other information. Listening session attendees will have the opportunity to share comments and vote on health priority areas for the county. The listening sessions are free and open to the public. El concierto de la Banda de las Escuelas Intermedias del Condado es esta noche a las 6:30 p.m. en A.L. Stanback Middle School. Actualización de Reasignación, Lunes, 6 de Noviembre
El Consejo de Educación recibirá otra actualización sobre la entrada de la comunidad y el proyecto de mapas revisados el lunes, 6 de noviembre, después de la primera serie de reuniones de la comunidad de entrada sobre la Redistribución de distritos y Reasignación para el año escolar 2024-2025. Las nuevas fechas para las reuniones de la comunidad se anunciarán después de la reunión del Consejo el lunes por la noche en el sitio web del distrito.
No hay escuela el próximo martes y viernes
- Martes, 7 de noviembre es un día de trabajo requerido de maestros para el día de elecciones. No hay escuela para los estudiantes el martes.
- El viernes, 10 de noviembre, observaremos el Día de Veteranos (el sábado, 11 de noviembre es el día festivo), y las escuelas e instalaciones de OCS estarán cerradas para el personal y los estudiantes. ¡Gracias a nuestros veteranos por su servicio en defensa de nuestro país!
