Class of 2024! Complete Graduation Information for Friday, June 7, 2024

GRADUATION IN ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOLS

FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2024

 

Families and friends attending graduation for the Class of 2024 in Orange County Schools will want to pay special attention to new information about schedules, locations, and security for this year’s ceremonies. All ceremonies will take place at Cedar Ridge and Orange High Schools; see below for details.

Graduation ceremonies will take place on Friday, June 7, 2024, for all three OCS high schools, including Partnership Academy High School. Also Friday, all district schools on the traditional calendar will dismiss three hours early for the final day of the 2023-2024 school year. Families may review emails and phone calls from their schools for additional details.

Schedule: Due to a schedule conflict with the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, graduations for the Class of 2024 in Orange County Schools are taking place on high school campuses, as noted below. Tickets are not needed for graduation, and all seating is general admission. At the evening ceremonies, gates will open at 6:00 p.m., and ceremonies will begin at 7:00 p.m.

 

  • Partnership Academy High School: 
    • Friday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m. in the Cedar Ridge High School Auditorium
  • Cedar Ridge High School: 
    • Friday, June 7, at 7:00 p.m. in Red Wolf Stadium (Cedar Ridge High)
  • Orange High School: 
    • Friday, June 7, at 7:00 p.m. in Auman Stadium (Orange High)

 


  • Cedar Ridge High School and Orange High School graduation ceremonies will be live-streamed and archived here at the links below:
  • Interpretation:

Rain Dates: In case of inclement weather, outdoor ceremonies may move to Saturday, June 8, or Monday, June 10, also at 7:00 p.m. Any schedule changes (only if needed) will be announced on the district website, through email, phone call, and text message to families, and through posts on district social media accounts.

Handicapped Parking: Limited handicapped parking is available at Cedar Ridge and Orange High Schools. Signage will direct motorists to the appropriate areas. Where needed, shuttles will carry guests back and forth between the stadium entrance and handicapped-accessible parking.

Clear Bags Only: No weapons, alcohol, or tobacco are allowed on school grounds. For safety and security, only clear bags will be allowed inside. Handbags, backpacks, camera bags, and assorted cloth or leather bags will not be permitted. Exceptions include medical equipment and diaper bags, subject to inspection.

Campus Security: Anyone who has attended events at the Dean Dome or in nearby districts will recognize these safety protocols. Prohibited items are not allowed under any circumstances. Guests have the option to return prohibited bags to their vehicles or dispose of them before entering the ceremony. Seat cushions will be permitted.

Photography: Guests will be able to take pictures from their seated locations. No guests will be allowed to enter athletic areas (track and football field) at any time. Families, friends, and supporters can meet graduates in the parking areas after the ceremony. Photos from all the ceremonies will be posted online by OCS at a future date after Graduation Day.
