A Message About the NC Governor's Announcement on In-Person Instruction

Dear Orange County Families and Staff,

Today, North Carolina’s Governor announced that in an effort to keep everyone safe and healthy, all public K-12 schools will remain closed for in-person instruction throughout the rest of this school year. Statement from State Board of Education Chairman Eric Davis on School Closure Decision.

Yesterday, the North Carolina State Board of Education approved grading guidance for K-11 students. No student grades will be negatively impacted by this current health crisis.

For additional information on what these mean for students, you can find this policy by grade level here: FINAL-FAQ-One Pager-Student Grading and Promotion 4.23.20.pdf

I will be sharing more information about how both of these announcements impact Orange County Schools on Monday.

Thank you, enjoy the weekend, and stay safe.
