With a generous grant award, recommended by the Walmart store in Mebane, the team of School Social Workers in OCS were able to have a tremendous impact over the holidays, helping to serve the most food-insecure students and families in Orange County.

Thanks to Walmart Giving, and the generosity of the local Walmart Supercenter in Mebane (Store No. 5346), the School Social Workers Team in Orange County Schools, received $2,000 to help feed 230 families in Orange County at Thanksgiving, and more than 300 families over the Christmas break.

He said the store was happy to serve and to give back to all those who come to Mebane as patrons of the Walmart there.

As a token of appreciation, McBroom presented a poster to the Store Lead. The poster shows, through photos, the impact Walmart made in November and Decemberupon the food box program. It will be on display where all employees may see the how they make a difference in their own community.
